Vita

Born on the island of Java, I`ve been living in Berlin since 1987.

Study trips led me through Asia, Africa, Europe and America. I studied sculpture at the art university of Oslo, and have worked in creative circles with several internationally renowned artists to elaborate on important philosophical aspects of the meaning of art.

Since the year of the millenium in 2000, gongs, which I create myself, have been my artistic medium.

The gong serves as a canvas for abstract paintings, freely combined calligraphic signs, that are spontaneously created in an interrelated process of meditation and artistic expression.

At the 6th international healers conference in 2006, I presented the sound-meditation-therapy developed by me, a new invention in the treatment of patients with sound.

Since the beginning of 2008, I`ve been developing my own compositions of contemporary music whilst working together with numerous internationally renowned musicians. I`m continuing this cooperation of western instruments with the sounding images as a permanent concept.

Beside exhibitions at the Tourismusbörse Berlin 2005, the Asia-Weeks at Belzig 2005, at Europacenter Berlin 2006, at the Zeughaus Berlin 2007 (German historic museum), the permanent exhibition at the Art Center Berlin from 17. Juli 2008 to spring 2010 was one of the highlights during my career.

I have shown the gongs at several important performances, e.g. my sound art was a highlight of a number of special events, performed at the "long night of museums" in 2008 and 2009 at the art center in Berlin and at the "Festival of Lights", also 2008, at the same location. I was invited to perform with one of my gongs at the Dalai Lamas Birthday celebration as well.

In the summer of 2013 I was invited to show two performances at the foundation stone ceremony for the Berliner Schloss. The ethnological museum of Berlin bought one of my „sounding paintings“ as the first piece of art for the new builded Humboldtforum.
